Blood Organge and Sage Margarita, glass edge with salt and edible flowers to look to ice.

Batch Blood Orange & Sage Margaritas

Looking for a little salt to balance out all of those sweets?

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. fresh blood orange juice

  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice

  • 2 oz. sage simple syrup - method below

  • 6 oz. tequila

  • 4 oz. Triple Sec

  • One blood orange

  • Fresh Sage

Instructions:

  1. Rim 4 glasses with salt (or sugar if you are still leaning into the sweets).

  2. Fill the glasses with crushed ice.

  3. Combine all ingredients into a pitcher and stir to mix well. You may strain the blood orange juice if you want to remove any pulp.

  4. Pour over ice.

  5. Garnish with blood orange slices and a sprig of sage.

Sage Simple Syrup

  • ½ cup granulated sugar + ¾ cup water

  • Sage leaves

  1. In a small saucepan combine sugar and water and heat on medium-low until sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. Add in about 10-15 sage leaves and gently simmer on low for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Be sure to keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn.

  3. Remove from heat, take out the sage and allow to cool completely before using.
