January's Pairing Is Breakfast For When You're Longing For Brunch

Updated: Feb 8

Tuck Into This Cozy Combination Of Floral Granolas And Lavender London Fog Lattes

With the new year comes a fresh start, and what better way to celebrate a fresh start to the year than with a fresh start to your day? For this month's pairing we are mixing it up again and featuring floral recipes made with our Edible Flower Sprinkles that will inspire you to step up your breakfast game a little bit!

Maybe you're participating in dry-January (why do we do this to ourselves?), or leaning in a little more to health and self-care - OR maybe you just really, really miss brunch! This pairing checks all of those boxes. We have two recipes for floral granola that we are pairing with a Lavender London Fog, or a Lavender Latte if you prefer espresso.

Granola Recipes

  • 1/4 tsp cardamom

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Wet

  • 1/4 C honey

  • 2 Tbs melted coconut oil

  • 2 Tbs melted butter, or if you prefer to omit increase coconut oil to 4 Tbs

  • 1/4 tsp rose water

For the Finish

  • 1/2 cup rough chopped dried apricots

  • 1/4 cup culinary grade dried rose petals

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325.

  2. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  3. Mix all wet ingredients in small bowl.

  4. Pour wet ingredients over dry and mix well.

  5. Pour oat mixture in single layer over a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 min.

  6. Oat mixture is finished when it is toasty and golden. Remove it from the oven and immediately tip it out on to a clean baking sheet and mix in the apricots and rose petals thoroughly and let cool completely.

Lavender Vanilla Granola

Ingredients:

Dry

  • 1 1/2 C rolled oats

  • 3/4 C rough chopped almonds

  • 3/4 C unsweetened coconut flake

  • 2 Tbs brown sugar, this can be left out if you prefer your granola slightly less sweet

  • 2 Tbs culinary lavender

Wet

  • 1/4 C honey

  • 2 Tbs melted coconut oil

  • 2 Tbs melted butter, or if you prefer to omit increase coconut oil to 4 Tbs

  • 1 Tbs Vanilla

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325.

  2. Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  3. Mix all wet ingredients in small bowl.

  4. Pour wet ingredients over dry and mix well.

  5. Pour oat mixture in single layer over a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 min.

  6. Oat mixture is finished when it is toasty and golden. Remove it from the oven and immediately tip it out on to a clean baking sheet and let cool completely.

Optional - If you happen to have them on hand, sprinkle the blue vial of our Edible Flower Sprinkles on top when the oat mixture comes out of the oven prior to cooling.

And as for the Lavender London Fog, there are so many different ways you could whip one of these up. We made ours with a lovely Enchanted Lavender Earl Grey loose tea from Old Barrel Tea Co., but if you have regular Earl Grey handy you could stir in a little lavender simple syrup before you pour over frothed milk.

If this doesn't help hold you over until you can brunch with your girlfriends again, then I don't know what will. Well, maybe this + breakfast champagne....

Cheers!
